The Safaricom Jazz Lounge is proud to bring you the Roberto Fonseca Quartet, with special guest Fatoumata Diawara.

Fresh off the release of his latest album ABUC, Roberto has been described by The New York Times as a “charismatic spark plug of a pianist from Cuba,” and made his debut at the Havana International Jazz Festival in 1990 when he was just15.

He is known by jazz lovers worldwide as an ingenious composer, and has made international appearances at jazz festivals all over the globe.
Taking the stage with him will be the golden voiced Fatoumata Diawara from Mali, who has collaborated with Roberto on the album At Home (Live in Marciac).

Fatoumata is a fast-rising singer and guitarist celebrated for her rich voice and intoxicating sound, and is billed as one of the next giants of jazz music.Opening for the two international stars will be one of the most prolific Kenyan instrumental afro-jazz fusion bands – Shamsi Music.
